OVER PRAKTIJK ARCH

My goal is to support you in building a healthier, more peaceful relationship with both your food and your body!

In 2019, I completed my final-year internship for my Bachelor’s in Nutrition and Dietetics at a mental health care facility specializing in eating disorders.

That experience confirmed my passion: helping people build a healthier, more balanced relationship with food and their bodies.

My goal is to support you in finding calm and confidence around eating, guiding you to trust your own signals rather than relying on strict rules, and creating sustainable, positive change!

About Arwa

love, Arwa

My name is Arwa, I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but I grew up in an Egyptian household where food was, and still is, about so much more than
simply eating.

In my family, meals are a way to connect, to care for one another, and to express love.

The smells, the flavors, and the traditions around food created warmth and a sense of belonging that shaped my view of nutrition from an early age.
Even now, food continues to be a way for me to experience and share love, and it’s a perspective I deeply value and carry into my work as a dietitian.

Since 2020, I have been working in mental health care, including five years in a specialized eating disorder clinic. Over these years, I’ve worked with people with a wide range of eating difficulties and disorders, and I’ve learned that our relationship with food, our bodies, and our self-image is influenced not only by personal habits, but also by our upbringing, culture, and the pressures of diet culture and unrealistic beauty ideals.

I’ve seen how these pressures can deeply affect self-confidence, eating habits, and the ability to trust one’s own body. Through this work, I’ve realized that lasting change doesn’t come from strict rules or quick fixes. Instead, it comes from understanding yourself, your background, and building practical strategies that fit your life.

In my approach, I focus on the whole person. I look at your daily habits, your cultural context, your relationship with food, and the ways external pressures might be affecting you. Together, we work to restore trust in your body, create ease and balance around eating, and recognize and challenge patterns that no longer serve you. I aim to help you reconnect with your own needs and values, honoring both your cultural background and your personal experiences.

Ultimately, this work is about more than food, it’s about connection, trust, and self-acceptance. It’s about finding a way to live in your body that feels authentic and sustainable, building a relationship with food that supports your well-being, and reclaiming the joy and meaning in eating that I experienced growing up. Step by step, at your own pace, you can develop the tools, awareness, and confidence to approach food and your body with calm, balance, and self-compassion.
